Almost to Africa and LAND

Thursday – March 5, 2009
Same old’, same old’.
Friday – March 6, 2009
More of the same. Ocean, ocean, ocean. An attempt last evening was made to view the ‘green flash’ as the last bit of sun dropped below the horizon. But alas, clouds were on the horizon, and the sunset fizzled out. I did manage to see the Southern Cross – small treats.

21 more hours on the ship. Can you tell I’m anxious to get on land again? Even the albatross have abandoned us today. For the last few days some have always seemed to be following us, or joining us for awhile. Not today as we approach South Africa. We are holding out hope for the sighting of whales.
We leave the ship tomorrow at 9 AM – 11 PM (Saturday) in California.
